I'm happy to announce I will permanently be donating 25% of each "Escaping Dolphin" necklace sold to Save Japan Dolphins.org! (that's up from 15%)
If it's just because you love dolphins, or because you want to make a difference in this big world, please join me in helping save them...
Richard O'Barry from SaveJapanDolphins.org & who was the dolphin trainer in Flipper regrets doing that show because it created a circus of dolphin love which led to captivity to them. I urge you to check out the story at www.savejapandolphins.org and if you can, please watch The Cove. That's what my agate piece represents, (the body of water where they're trapped, captured, sold, & slaughtered)
I never imagined something like this could be so important to me... Then I saw the documentary "The Cove" and it changed my perception! I made the Escaping Dolphin one day when I found this beautiful blue & teal piece of agate. I knew I wanted to make a dolphin piece with it but didn't know what... So then I tried my hand at wirewrapping, added a dolphin and realized the wire looked like a "net" ...and viola Escaping Dolphin was born! A few months ago I UP'd the donation amount to 25% after seeing those 2 dolphins nicknamed Sad & Lonely that were kept in a TINY pool in Japan. They just floated there like zombies & hardly had no room to swim & depressed... Many people, including me petitioned for them to be moved or released. Recently they were moved. I try to make a difference in any way I can. Some people say "Tiff you're the one that needs financial help, WHY are you donating to other groups?" WHY because some things are more important to me that me! If I could physically help I would, but I'm limited to my home, so this is the only way I can help. ♥

"Escaping Dolphin" Necklace

Escaping Dolphin Accessories
Inspired by "The Cove" this is a beautiful slice of natural agate called a geode, with a dolphin charm swiming away from net (wrapped to look like a net). The agate symbolizes the water at the Cove in Taiji, Japan. "The Cove" movie is what opened my eyes to the harsh reality of where captive dolphins come from.

Bring your love of the Escaping Dolphin piece with you everywhere you go. You'll love how it looks in your car hanging from your rearview mirror as the sun shines thru the stone. It comes on a silver string long enough to hang on around your mirror.
25% of each mirror charm sold is donated to helping Dolphins: SaveJapanDolphins.org |
